Sometimes the need in front of us feels too big.
A hurting family. A lost community. A struggling church. A burden we cannot shake. We look at what is needed, then we look at what we have, and our first thought is, “It’s not enough.”
But in John 6, Jesus did not ask the boy to feed the crowd. He simply used what the boy was willing to surrender: five loaves and two fish.
In the boy’s hands, it was lunch.
In Jesus’ hands, it became an abundance.
That is still how God works. He is not asking us to create the miracle. He is asking us to bring Him what we have — our gifts, our testimony, our resources, our prayers, our obedience, our willingness.
It may seem small to us, but small things surrendered to Jesus are never small for long.
So bring Him what you have. Trust Him with what seems insignificant. Expect Him to move. And even when storms come after obedience, remember that the same Jesus who multiplied the bread is the same Jesus who walks on the water.
“It’s not your job to feed the 5,000. It’s only to provide the loaves and fishes.”-Dallas Jenkins, Director of The Chosen
